16 May 2006

Mother's day is over. yeah. Hannah, Josh and I went to Idaho for the weekend to visit Grandma Sue and Grandpa Wayne. John and Isaac stayed home and had a guys weekend. They had a ton of fun. They slept out on the trampoline, went to the batting cages, a soccer game, a movie and a birthday party. Whew! I think it was really good for Isaac to have some one-on-one time with a parent.
Idaho was a little more laid back. Friday night we went to a dance recital for Jess, Emma, Natalie and Serenity. They did great and the "company" classes were amazing! Hannah wants to take dance classes again. Now we just have to find a good one in Utah. 7:00am Saturday morning, Grandpa Wayne, Hannah and I went to the Garden Center to water everything. (Teri usually does it, but she wasn't feeling good). It was actually really fun. I got a chance to look over everything before I decided what I wanted to buy and I got a discount because of watering:) Which was a good thing cause I found a lot of stuff to buy. My mom also planted some (8 flats) zinnias for me and of course, tomatoes for us and John's parents. It was a trick fitting it all into the van, but we did it. Saturday afternoon we went to the fairgrounds for a baby animal fair. It was pretty small, but they had bunnies and ducks that the kids could hold and ponies, cows and sheep that they could pet. We also went on a wagon ride. They had a good time. Sunday was church, dinner and then we tried to visit Grandma and Grandpa Kesler, but they looked so sweet fast asleep in their recliners in front of the TV that we just let them be. Happy Mother's Day Grandma!
Then we were off! The bonus of the trip was that Josh stayed behind for a few days. He'll be back Wednesday night. It is nice to have some peace for a couple of days but I miss him.

First Post
This is a new experience for me but here goes. Short synopsis of our life.
John is still working at Feature Films For Families and loving it. He is 2nd counselor in the bishopric which keeps him super busy.
I (Chris) run this house and take care of the three kids. We built a new house about 18 months ago and we love it but I have to say, it sure is hard to keep a big house clean by myself. I am also secretary in the primary.
Hannah is 8 years old and in 2nd grade. She loves school and playing with her friends and drawing and being creative. She currently doesn't have any extra curricular activities because her piano teacher had to take a break and she decided she would rather play soccer than take dance classes. We are looking for a new piano teacher and soccer starts again in the fall.
Isaac is 6 years old and in Kindergarten. He is not so enthusiastic about school, but he is doing really well. He plays soccer and baseball which keeps us very busy during this season.
Joshua will be 4 in August. He will start Pre-school in September, so for now he is my buddy at home. He is a pretty good shopper and helper around the house---HA! But we do have a good time because he is a sweetie pie and too darn cute to get mad at. I'm sure that will come back to bite me in the future.
Anyway, that's us. We mostly keep busy with the kid's activities and church---if we have any free time, we love to hang out in our back yard with our family or have friends over. In the spring and summer, we spend most of our weekends working in the garden and yard. We are homebodies. :) Life is good.
